...you will just never forget. They leave an impression on you that will forever change you. They shape who you are today.
Falling in love, engagement, marriage, pregnancy, first night home with your newborn, etc.
But sometimes there are things that leave that lasting mark on you that aren't so sweet. Not a day goes by without replaying the scenes in your head. There is fear, disgust, horror attached.
For example, when early one morning you are going to the bathroom, you turn around to flush, and you see a HUGE cockroach in the toilet bowl. Less than inches away from your bare buns that had just been relaxing on the seat while you scrolled mindlessly on your phone.
I will never, ever, ever, ever, sit on that toilet the same.

I don't even have the energy to write about what we've been up to... so here is the short and sweet version.
Right after Thanksgiving...New Orleans! We had a team offsite to visit Jamie's home. We had such a good time and ate awesome food!
|JM and Drew both at their first NFL game|
JM did great! I was pretty nervous about it, but he slept through half of the game.
We were home for a week and then off for four straight weeks of traveling....
First stop, Minnesota to visit Drew's Grandma. She was recently moved to a really nice assisted living home. I love walking around the dining room and showing off JohnMark.
Then Christmas Eve in Morse Bluff, Christmas morning in Omaha, and Christmas day/night in Kansas City. And the following day in Scribner, NE. Are you exhausted reading this yet?
JM got some awesome gifts! Santa brought him books, a Chews Life rosary, Our Lady of Guadalupe doll, and a ball. He was most interested in a tic tac box from my stocking.
He was born at 35 weeks and is still in the NICU but is doing really well! Please pray for the sweet family! Steve and Preston have been so strong through it all.
Then off to Dallas for our Student Leadership Summit. This conference is for our student leaders who are in discipleship and lead bible studies. It was a little different with a baby, but it is always so refreshing to be around other FOCUS wives.
A highlight was definitely meeting Jen. One of my best friends works for her and I just couldn't pass up a chance to talk to her. Once I mentioned I was friends with Alex she asked for a picture... I quickly agreed. Jen and her husband Joe were so sweet and invited me to sit and play a game with their family. Her daughters loved JM too.
After the conference we hung around in Dallas for another week. First, we stayed in a VRBO with some great friends, Calvin, Shelby, and sweet Josie. We met in college, were in each others weddings that were three weeks apart and both had babies last year. They are also missionaries in Colorado so we don't get to see them too often. The dads took some ridiculous pictures too while the moms were off shopping one day.
|Are you even childhood friends if you don't have one of these pictures??|
Lastly, we visited Drew's aunt, uncle, and cousins for weekend. They were such wonderful hosts and so fun to be around.
We finally made it home at midnight two Sundays ago and I am still recovering. It was definitely an unforgettable Christmas, but I swear I am not packing another suitcase for many many months. (How do people travel with more than one child???)
Now I need to take a nap because I am just exhausted from thinking about that trip.
